Take a walk out on the Higgs Beach Pier and see ocean life below your feet.

Key West is famous for its large coral reef located six miles south of the island. But numerous smaller coral formations, sea grasses, and other ocean creatures are ubiquitous. Pictured here, on a day with especially good water visibility, one can peer at the bottom as if looking into an aquarium. This photo was taken at the Higgs Beach dock, where numerous ocean organisms have been spotted, including small sharks, rays, fish (from the small snappers to the giant Tarpon), and even manatees.
